❤ Bequest
"My brother Jean B (pictured below) led a full life and did things his own way. Johnny had an entrepreneurial spirit from a young age. He was always busy learning. He spent many years living in the Canadian Arctic and yet always found time to travel across the globe. He kept busy during his retirement back in Montreal. He liked to swim, ride his bike, and attended Portuguese and Quebec musical and cultural events. He belonged to the Montreal Historical Society, as well as tramway, and bus clubs.
He was very humble with no interest in material things. He was always very conscious of the inequalities. It was essential for him to help those in need, family, or friends. Throughout his life he gave to a wide array of charities that were dear to his heart. My brother was an admirable philanthropist who chose legacy giving (bequest) to leave a lasting and meaningful impact in the Montreal community. He chose to give to Nova Home Care as he was particularly fond of the nonprofit organization that cared for those in need with true compassion."
Janice MacLeod, sister of Mr. MacLeod, who benefited from our home palliative and end-of-life care program.
“Our mother Lucy Nisker (Zylberszac) had a natural kindness and inner strength that attracted people to her. She was kind and devoted to her friends and extended family, and they were in turn devoted to her. She faced her cancer diagnosis with courage... and acceptance.
Her main wish was to remain at home until her last moments. During the final weeks of her life, Nova Home Care in collaboration with the CLSC provided the medical support that we could rely and depend on. Nova’s nurses were professional yet compassionate. Their impactful presence and humane approach made our family feel supported up until the final moments of our mother’s life. There was great coordination between Nova and the CLSC as they worked hand in hand to ensure that we had support around the clock.
Our mother’s wish came true. She was able to live her final days in peace and with dignity in the comfort of her own home surrounded by her loved ones. Our mother chose to include a planned charitable gift in her will to help support Nova Home Care. Through this bequest, her philanthropic gesture will have a greater impact and ensure that a cause dear to her heart receives support that will last over time.
Lucy was a beautiful woman inside and out, and her memory will be cherished forever.”
Joyce Nisker Takefman and William Nisker, children of Mrs. Nisker, who benefited from our home palliative and end-of-life care program.

❤ Publicly Traded Securities
“We received truly excellent service from the Nova Home Care nurse, alongside the CLSC of Verdun, during the last three months of life of my wife, Suzanne Gagnon. Her warm and caring approach made it easier for us to accept this difficult situation.
Suzanne had a peaceful end of life at home and left us for her final journey with all her dignity intact.
We were privileged to live in Verdun (where I still reside), which favours home palliative care and serves as a model for Quebec.
I will continue to support Nova financially in the years to come, particularly through the donation of publicly traded securities to recognize your services and help you continue your work. I was able to appreciate firsthand your compassionate care, which brought us great comfort.”
Jean-Pierre Provencher, caregiver who benefited from respite included in our home palliative and end-of-life care program.
